When: Saturday, January 25, 2025 1:00-3:00pm

Join us! Learn about the cultures of the families and teachers of Brophy. Represent the country of your family’s origin by hosting a table or giving a performance. Bring toys, handicrafts, and pictures for display. Be creative. Wear or display traditional clothing representing your country. Music, dance, handcrafts, and food are always crowd pleasers.

There are two ways to get involved:

  1. Host a table with food, decorations or handicrafts from your country of your family’s origin.

  2. Give a performance (song, dance, etc) representing your family’s culture or suggest a local organization/person who may be interested in performing.

Sign up here:

We hope you will participate or attend to celebrate Brophy’s diverse community. Suggested donation $5 per family

📝ACCESS Testing in January📝

Greetings from the Framingham Public Schools Department of Multilingual Education!

All students in the Framingham Public Schools that are identified as English Learners/Emergent Bilingual will participate in the ACCESS tests from January 6 to February 14, 2025.

ACCESS (Assessing Communication and Comprehension in English State-to-State) is a test mandated by State and Federal law, and is designed to help educators, students, and parents monitor language development readiness to compete and succeed in an English-only academic environment as students. This assessment is for students identified as English learners.

It measures progress in acquiring academic English in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Here is a newsletter with information about the upcoming ACCESS testing.

Here is more information about the BPAC, or Bilingual Caregiver Advisory Council, meeting to be held on Jan. 6 at 7:00 pm. All are welcome!

⛄Recess in the Snow⛄

Recess is fun...and even more fun when there is snow on the ground!

Students must be wearing the following items to be allowed to play in the snow:

-snow boots

-gloves

-coat or jacket

-hat

Students who are not wearing these items will still play outside, however they will remian on the shoveled black top. Thank you!

Students can play in snow with winter gear (boots, gloves, coat, hat)

✅Reminders✅

  • Riding the bus is a privilege. Please remind students to show respect by picking up their trash and not damaging the seats. Anyone that is found to be damaging a bus may be suspended from riding it.
  • Ask your students to check the lost and found! We have collected many sweatshirts, water bottles, jackets, and more already this year.
  • Please send important notes to the office. If you choose to send important information to school with your student, please let their teacher know so that we can remind them to check their backpack.
  • Please use the designated pick up and drop off locations.
